Younis Khan idolises Imran Khan

Pakistan skipper Younis Khan's idol is Imran Khan. He revealed what prompted him to choose Imran as his idol though he himself is neither an allrounder nor a fast bowler.

Dubai: Pakistan skipper Younis Khan's idol is Imran Khan. He revealed what prompted him to choose Imran as his idol though he himself is neither an allrounder nor a fast bowler.

"He is a Khan and I am a Khan too. He's a fast bowler so he was always my hero. The way he talked and his captaincy inspired me," he said at the Dubai Sports City's official opening souvenir. He did not play for his squad against Australia in Dubai's inaugural Twenty20 match yesterday.

Younis Khan was born near Kabul in Afghanistan. The Afghanistan cricket team which is creating waves as an affiliate country can be proud of him.

Khan also revealed that his nick name is Youni. He also revealed that he relaxes singing songs before a game. "I sing Pakistani songs," he said.

Khan has loved the Dubai stadium. "It is fantastic and has a soccer feel," he remarked. But the favourtie country he loves to play is New Zealand. "Though I play in England in county cricket, I love to play in New Zealand. The people there are very nice," he said.

When Khan was asked what he misses most about home when he is on tour," he said: "I do miss my mum and my family."
