Abu Dhabi: Three young fast bowlers from the UAE will get a chance to attend a two-week training stint at the world famous MRF Pace Foundation in India's southern city of Chennai.

Gopal Jaspara of cricketlovers.com along with Event Co-ordinator Roop K. Razdan will be organising a three-day clinic to hunt for fast bowlers in association with Abu Dhabi Cricket Council and Westminster Insportz Academy.

"We will be organising three-day cricket clinics in Abu Dhabi and Dubai starting from September 24.

These two clinics will be followed by a competition to be held at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi after which three boys will be selected to attend the all-expense paid two-week training programme at MRF Pace Foundation," said Jaspara.

"Apart from the 'Speed has no Limit- Hunt for Fast Bowlers', a training course in cricket skills will be part of this event with emphasis on fast bowling," said Razdan, who conceptualised the event.

T.A. Shekar, the former Indian paceman and chief coach at the MRF Pace Foundation headed by Dennis Lillee, along with Pakistan international Zakir Khan and India's newest pace sensation S. Sreesanth will adjudicate the competition which will throw up one under-15, one under-17 and one under-19 fast bowling prospect.

Shyam Bhatia, the main sponsor of the event, said in a message, "It is a great platform and I would encourage every young enthusiast not to miss this chance of learning from the best in the business."

"This programme is the first of its kind in the UAE and the ADCC is delighted to assist in the initiative," said Dilawar Mani, ADCC chief, during the press conference yesterday.

"The ADCC has made available its facilities to the programme since it targets the development of the cricket-loving youth here," he added. Zakir Khan, who played for Pakistan in 1985-86, said the MRF Pace Academy had helped mould many great bowlers.

"Recently we sent Mohammad Asif to the MRF Foundation. Creating opportunities and nurturing talent is the need of the hour," he said.

The Abu Dhabi camp will be held at the ADCC Cricket Complex between September 24-26 from 6.30pm to 9pm.

The Dubai event will be held between September 27-29 at Dubai Westminster School. Limited numbers of 50 trainees each for the two camps will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis and the entry fee for the three-day camp is Dh250 per trainee.
