Top schools to take part in Sharjah tournaments
These tournaments have grown in popularity and are widely recognized
Sharjah: DPS Sharjah will host the sixth Sundeep Batavia Memorial inter-school cricket tournament for boys under-12 years and the fourth inter-school basketball tournament for both boys and girls under-19 years from tomorrow to November 10 at the school complex.
Top schools from Mumbai, Bangalore and Muscat have already confirmed their participation along with the other 15 other leading schools of UAE.
Ecole Mondiale World School Mumbai and The International School Bangalore are participating in the basketball (boys and girls) and boys cricket tournament.
Besides these, last year's cricket tournament winner Dubai Modern High School, basketball girls winner Our Own English High School Dubai and the basketball boys winner and host DPS Sharjah are also participating.
These tournaments have grown in popularity and are widely recognized for its vision and commitment in inculcating sportsman spirit within the younger generation of today.
This event that initially began with the participation of 11 schools has today seen 20 schools participating. Coaches and managers from participating schools too expressed immense satisfaction with the systematic management and the high standards that the event has set in the region.
DPS Sharjah Principal Vandana Marwaha has already addressed a meeting comprising the coaches and managers of different school teams.
