Ahmedabad: Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar will miss the third and final test against South Africa starting in Kanpur on April 11, the Indian board said on Saturday.

Tendulkar suffered a groin injury during last week's first test, forcing him to miss the second game in Ahmedabad.

"Sachin's recovery is making good progress but he has not recovered sufficiently to be available for the third test," the board said in a statement.
