Teams invited for elephant polo

Jaipur, India: The Indian, Pakistani and English cricket teams, here for the Champions Trophy, were invited to play elephant polo yesterday - an entirely different ball game.
The Rajasthan Polo Club (RPC) secretary, Vikram Singh Rathore, extended the invitation to the teams, the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) media manager, Anant Vyas, said.
Elephant polo, a traditional and elite sport, is quite popular in the state and particularly in the state capital. It is one of the several versions of polo played in India, the other being horse polo and cycle polo.
Now, women in blue
It is just a coincidence that the uniform of the women staff at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium here is blue sarees.
These women were seen working at the ground - venue of Sunday's opening match of the Champions Trophy - even before the Indian team arrived in their blue training uniform.
Another coincidence was that the new permanent stands, built at the southern end of the stadium, has also been painted in the same colour - light blue. The colour of the chairs in another enclosure was green - the colour of the Pakistan team that play Sri Lanka today.
