"It is the first time such a tournament will be held under our auspices and it will be interesting to see the impact of it.

"It will be the right type of a tournament especially during Eid," Farooq Seddiqi of DCC told Gulf News. Sixteen teams will compete in this tournament set to commence from December 6.

The rules have been formulated after in-depth study to ensure that Ten10 will be as thrilling and exciting as the Twenty20 event.

Elaborating on the rules, Gopal Jasapara, who formulated the rules specifically for the tournament, said: "The Bowling team will have to use a minimum seven bowlers and the field restrictions will be limited to three."

"Through a Ten10 tournament we can stage more matches and also involve more teams.

"The duration of an innings will be 40 minutes and the match will get over in 90 minutes," said Seddiqi, who will conduct the draw for the event today.
