Star man Parvez powers Beladi to victory
Man of the match Mohammad Parvez scored a crackling unbeaten 34 while Naeemullah played the perfect foil as Beladi Real Estate CC defeated Inder Transport CC to lift the Indo-Pakistan Independence Day Cricket Cup last week.
Dubai: Man of the match Mohammad Parvez scored a crackling unbeaten 34 while Naeemullah played the perfect foil as Beladi Real Estate CC defeated Inder Transport CC to lift the Indo-Pakistan Independence Day Cricket Cup last week.
Parvez was in full flow striking five sixes in his unbeaten 34, while Naeemullah hit three sixes and two fours in his knock of 32 as Beladi reached 77 without loss in their allotted five overs.
Cash awards
In reply, Inder CC tried their best to keep up to the run-rate with Hameed hammering a quick 29 aided with three sixes and Omar chipped in with a quick 27 runs. But their efforts were not good enough as Inder CC reached 60 for three in their allotted five overs.
Parvez was rightly awarded the man of the match award.
The winners picked up a trophy and a cash award of Dhs 2000, while the runners-up took a trophy and Dhs 1000.
The tournament, held under the auspices of the Ajman Cricket Council, attracted 12 teams. The seven-a-side competition was organised by Dubai United CC to mark the Indo-Pakistan independence day celebrations.
Abdul Rahim, Chairman of sponsors Geo Developers and Imran Malek, general manager of Geo, gave away the trophies after the final.
