Smiles are back on King Khan's face
Kolkata Knight Riders' return to winning ways gives Bollywood star and owner something to cheer
Dubai : With Kolkata Knight Riders, the wooden spooners last year opening the third edition of the League with a shock win over defending champions Deccan Chargers on Friday, no prizes for guessing that franchise owner Shah Rukh Khan was over the moon.
"Yippeeeeee, finally got to see my kids & the boys in KKR smiling. Inshaallah [By God's grace] the smiles will continue. still miles to go, but we will get there," the Bollywood icon posted on his Twitter account. Khan — who was almost omnipresent at the team dugout during the second edition in South Africa but had little to cheer about — was conspicuous by his absence on Friday evening. Call it superstition or what you will, but the star was reported to have watched the game with close friends at the new theatre at his residence ‘Mannat.'
In another post, Khan said: "dada [Ganguly] said so sweetly...aapko smile karte hue dekhkar achha lagta hai (It feels good to see you smiling. Am happy team loves me so...and i do the same."
