Rest Schools get the better of Al Ain side

Rest Schools defeated Al Ain Junior school to lift the Klear Pure Drinking Water Twenty-20 Inter School cricket tournament at the Al Ain Sportplex.

Al Ain: Rest Schools defeated Al Ain Junior school to lift the Klear Pure Drinking Water Twenty-20 Inter School cricket tournament at the Al Ain Sportplex.

Rest Schools posted 169 for 3 in the allotted 20 overs through Aashish Dhingra (44 off 30 balls), Fahad Tariq (44 off 33 balls) and Farhan (47 off 35 balls).

Al Ain could only manage 98 for 9 in their 20 overs although Sa'ad played brilliantly to make the only fifty of the match.

Farhan of Rest Schools walked away with the man of the final prize for his all-round performance (47 not out and 2 wickets).

The player of the tournament award went to Amjad Gul Khan of New Indian School, UAQ. He made 258 runs off 154 balls.

Taymoor Khalil of Rest Schools received the best batsman award while Shahir Qudwai of Al Ain Juniors School, who took 10 wickets, won the best bowler award.

He received a ball autographed by former Pakistan captain Mushtaq Mohammad, who also gave away the prizes.
