Showers swept across the ground soon after India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and chose to bowl first.
The four-match series is level at 1-1 after the teams split the two matches in Jamaica last week.
The visitors made two changes to the team that suffered an eight-wicket loss on Sunday.
All-rounder Abhishek Nayar replaces Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowler Ishant Sharma returns at the expense of Praveen Kumar.
The West Indies retain an unchanged eleven from Sunday.
