Youngsters tested their skills against talented players in India

Dubai: Max Talent Cricket Academy returned from India after playing in a tournament against the most promising under-13 and under-16 boys in Mumbai. The academy, which hosts its Max Talent Bisleri Challenge Cup in Mumbai to get their cricketers playing against talented teams in India, has returned richer for the experience.
Speaking to Gulf News, Sudhakar Shetty, the head coach of the academy, said: "The Under-16 boys won three of the five matches they played. The teams they played against are academies which produce the future stars of Indian cricket like Little Star Cricket club, Payyade Sports Club, Sahayadri Cricket Academy, P J Hindu Gymkhana and Thakur Cricket Academy. The Under-13 boys won two out of their four matches as their opponents were teams like MIG, SPG (Amre Cricket Club). Payyade Sports Club and MCF."
The star performer of the tour was Jay Joshi of Indian High School, Dubai. He took 15 wickets during the tour which included a brilliant spell of 8 for 13.
"Jay's spell included a hat-trick which is the first in this tournament. He also scored 85 runs," said Shetty, who also makes arrangements for his boys to interact with Test cricketers such as Lalchand Rajput and Pravin Amre.
"This is the fifth edition of my tournament and I am happy that it is also benefiting youngsters in Mumbai," added Shetty.
Amre Cricket Club coached by Amre and Padmakar Shivalkar, who was one of India's finest spinners, won the tournament. They defeated Little Star Club in the final played in one of Mumbai's Payyade Cricket Ground in Kandivili.
