The UAE is being seen as a possible venue to stage Indian Cricket League (ICL) matches.
Dubai: The UAE is being seen as a possible venue to stage Indian Cricket League (ICL) matches.
Speaking to the participants of a seminar on the ICL, being organised by the Karachi Arts Council, Kapil Dev, chairman of the ICL Executive Board, said in a telephonic address: "We would look at taking our league matches not only to Pakistan, but also to Sharjah, Dubai or Abu Dhabi."
The ICL is a proposed private cricket league that will be run on a Twenty20 format.
A local cricket club in Karachi has invited the ICL to organise its matches in Pakistan and Kapil Dev said he would consider the offer.
Arif Abbasi, a former Pakistan Cricket Board chief executive, is currently the chief executive of the Arabian Country Club in Karachi.
Abbassi has also sent an invitation to Kapil Dev, offering the club's ground for the ICL matches.
