Sharjah: Mohammad Iqbal and Shoaib Sarwar steered Emirates Rest to a stunning seven-wicket victory over Emirates Pakistan in the Alam Steel Four Nations Cup at the Sharjah cricket stadium.
Opener Iqbal hit 79 off 64 balls with nine fours and three sixes to help his side race to a resounding triumph in just 23 overs after the Shoaib-led Emirates Rest attack knocked holes into the tentative Emirates Pakistan innings before it folded at 147 in 41.3 overs.
The day-night match clearly belonged to the Emirates Rest team who wasted no time in the seizing the early initiative and kept the momentum rolling with ease.
Emirates Pakistan, batting first, never found the rhythm in the face of a relentless attack from Emirates Rest.
With new-ball bowler Shoaib striking early blows, Emirates Pakistan were reduced to 25 for three and could never recover from the stuttering start.

Emirates Rest bt Emirates Pakistan by seven wickets: Emirates Pakistan 147 in 41.3 overs ( Naeemullah 36; Shoaib 3 for 38, Ahmad Raza 2 for 16, Mohammad Tauqir 2 for 26, Aosaf Ali 2 for 25) Emirates Rest 148 for 3 in 23 overs (Mohammad Iqbal 79, Rameez Shehzad 31n.o; Saqib Ali 2 for 31).
