Inaugural Lexus 10-overs-a-side tournament claimed by Team A
Team A won the inaugural Lexus Corporate 10-overs-a-side Cricket Challenge over the weekend at the Jabir Bin Zaid (OHA) Grounds.
- Murray Sims (Team A) won best catch of the tournament.
- Sh. Abdulla Al Harthy (Team A) bowled the only maiden over.
- Ivor Braganza (Team C) scored the fastest 20 off 6 deliveries
- Ashok Manocha (Team C) took the only hat trick of the tournament
- Tarun Kunzru (Team A) had the most catches in the tournament with three
- H.H. Qais Bin Khalid Al Said (Team A) was named Man of the Series
Dubai: Team A won the inaugural Lexus Corporate 10-overs-a-side Cricket Challenge over the weekend at the Jabir Bin Zaid (OHA) Grounds.
There were three teams in the fray and each one played the other once.
In the opening match of the tournament, Team B ere defeated by Team A after scoring 64 for the loss of five wickets in their 10 overs.
In reply, Team A successfully completed the run chase by hitting 68 for the loss of five wickets off 9.1 overs.
The star players were Samir Fancy after scoring 22 and H.E. Sultan Al Harthy who managed 10.
In the second match, Team A was once again victorious.
In their innings they scored 89 for the loss of six wickets off 9.3 overs in order to beat Team C's 87 for nine off 10 overs.
Team B won the third match of the night after scoring 84 for the loss of seven wickets in 10 overs. Team C managed only 79 for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 10 overs.
The Oman national cricket team were received after the match.
They were represented by Kanaksi Khimji, Maqbool Moosa Al Yousef, Madhu Jesrani, Chaitanya Gulabsi, Samir J. Fancy, R. Vaikunth, Kiran Asher, Sayeed Anwar, Da'ad Mohd, and Madhu Sampat.
Team A won its first game by restricting their opponents to just 64. The second game saw them hit 89, which was enough to win.
