Ibn Seena stun Dubai Modern to reach inter-school cricket final

Sharjah: Reigning champions Dubai Modern High School crashed out to Ibn Seena School, Sharjah, in the first semi-final of the sixth edition of the boys under-17s Maxtalent Global Vision Cup inter-school cricket tournament.

Put into bat first, Dubai Modern High lost wickets at regular intervals on their way to posting 153 in 22 overs, with Kurt Pereira scoring 28 of 25 balls and Varun Totadari 27 off 18.

Mujtaba was the pick of the bowlers for Ibn Seena, bagging 3 for 26 from five overs. He was backed up by Daniyal (2-26) and the in-form Saqib Shezad (2-32)

Ibn Seena chased the total through Saqib Shezad's 56 of 53 balls and Abdur Rehman, who hit 29 in 12.

In the under-13s section, Cambridge International School posted a comprehensive victory over Emirates English Speaking School by six wickets, but lost to Dubai Modern School by seven wickets. This gave Dubai Modern a place in the semi-finals.
