Haq proclaims Pakistan's new challenge
Pakistan skipper Misbah Ul Haq announced his new challenge for the team following the clean sweep over England
Dubai: Pakistan skipper Misbah Ul Haq announced his new challenge for the team following the clean sweep over England.
He has decided to prove that his team is formidable on foreign wickets too, especially on conditions different from Pakistan wickets
We just want to do well and perform well everywhere. I am happy that my youngsters are coming up. Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Hafeez are doing extremely well. We also have good fast bowlers and good spinners and all that is needed is the mindset to do it
"This will be my team's next challenge. This team loves challenges. We have this challenge (of winning abroad) in our minds and everybody is just focussing to prove themselves outside Pakistan. My team has already had some success. Look at the performance of our team in New Zealand. I think those conditions were not easy for our team but our team performed very well there and also in West Indies. We are looking forward to go to South Africa and Australia."
Haq believe that the youngsters in the team during the last 18 months have done exceptionally well. "We just want to do well and perform well everywhere. I am happy that my youngsters are coming up. Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Hafeez are doing extremely well. We also have good fast bowlers and good spinners and all that is needed is the mindset to do it," he said
Haq even talked about his philosophy for success. "The most important thing in any sport or in any field of life is that whatever you achieve it goes into the past. If you are stuck with it there then you cannot move ahead and improve yourself. My message to my team and all my players is that this Test series is finished and we have to look ahead. There are One-dayers and T20s and if we remain happy with this victory we may not be able to perform the same way in future. We need to keep winning match, winning series and always think about future."
