Gul steers Emirates Islamic Bank into Ajman final

Emirates Islamic Bank beat Fortune Group to enter the finals of the Trucape Kibsons Twenty20 Ramadan tournament organised by Ajman Cricket Council.

Ajman: Emirates Islamic Bank beat Fortune Group to enter the finals of the Trucape Kibsons Twenty20 Ramadan tournament organised by Ajman Cricket Council.

Fortune Group scored 103 before they were all out in the sixteenth over. With star batsman Azhar Gul in fine form it was a cakewalk for the bankers.

Azhar Gul scored a quick 50 with six hits to the fence. Skipper Asim Kaleem and Ahmad Raza claimed three wickets each for Emirates Islamic Bank.

Earlier, Fortune Group had beaten Inder Transport while Emirates Islamic Bank beat Emirates NBD to reach the semi finals.

Fortune Group scored 170 for the loss of eight wickets aided by a brilliant performance by the middle order.

Inder Transport in reply were all out for 109. Nadeem claimed three wickets for Fortune Group while Mohammad Shahzad claimed two.

In the other quarter final, Emirates Islamic Bank beat Emirates NBD by 7 wickets.

Emirates NBD scored 121 for the loss of nine wickets.

Emirates Islamic Bank hit the target in the sixteenth over aided by a brilliant knock by Azhar Gul who remained unbeaten on 61. Azhar Gul won the man of the match award.

Young Talents Cricket Academy fought their way into the final of the Danube 20/20 Ramadan Cup after a hard-fought win over DPS Sharjah.

The match, which took place at the DPS Jebel Ali cricket ground ended in the 19th over with Young Talents chasing down the victory target of 116 with 8 wickets to spare.

Emirates Islamic Bank beat Emirates NBD by 7 wickets. Emirates NBD 121 for 9 ( Naeem Aslam 46, Asim Kaleem 3 for 24, Adnan Arif 2 for 21). Emirates Islamic Bank 124 for 3 in 16.2 overs (Azhar Gul 61 n.o., Atif 29 n.o.). Man of the match : Azhar Gul of Emirates Islamic Bank.
