ETA Ascon and Emirates Islamic Bank in semis

Emirates Islamic Bank and ETA Ascon moved into the semifinals of the Dulsco Corporate Ramadan Cricket Tournament at Zabeel Park Cricket Ground Dubai.

Dubai: Emirates Islamic Bank and ETA Ascon moved into the semifinals of the Dulsco Corporate Ramadan Cricket Tournament at Zabeel Park Cricket Ground Dubai.

In the quarterfinals, Emirates Islamic Bank (EIB) trounced FedEx by nine wickets while ETA Ascon Star defeated Al Hathboor by 68 runs.

In the semifinals, EIB will clash with Emrill Services, while EIB will take on ENOC.

Electing to bat first, FedEx struggled against the rivals bowling and could put on only 99 for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Opener Jarnail was the top-scorer with 25 off 12 balls with the help of two sixes and one four.

Asim Kaleem was the most successful bowler for EIB claiming three vital wickets, conceding only 15 runs in his quota of four overs, which also included one maiden.

EIB reached the target in just seven overs with Faizan hitting an unbeaten 62 off 21 deliveries with the help of six sixes and five fours. Asim contributed 36 from 19 balls

In the first match ETA Ascon outplayed Al Hathboor by 68 runs. Batting first, ETA Ascon put on 123 for nine and later bowled out their rivals for a paltry 55 in 11.3 overs as Mohammad Imran picked up five wickets for just eight runs in his three overs.
