Emirates Islamic Bank wins SCC Inter Bank tournament
The finals of the Sharjah Cricket Council Inter Bank Cricket Tournament 2008 held on Monday saw Emirates Islamic Bank (EIB) emerge as the undisputed champions.
Dubai: The finals of the Sharjah Cricket Council Inter Bank Cricket Tournament 2008 held on Monday saw Emirates Islamic Bank (EIB) emerge as the undisputed champions.
EIB, who remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, scored 190 runs against opponents Commercial Bank International (CBI).
EIB Skipper Asim Kaleem's 100 run partnership with Azhar Gul sealed the victory for EIB.
Indian cricket legend Ravi Shastri was also present to congratulate the winners who were supported by an impressive turnout of families and staff as well as EIB and CBI business heads.
This year's tournament had stiff competition with 10 teams from some of the UAE's top banks participating.
