Chennai Super Kings beat Kings XI Punjab

Chennai Super Kings ended Kings XI Punjab's winning streak, beating the visitors by 18 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here Saturday night.

Chennai: Chennai Super Kings ended Kings XI Punjab's winning streak, beating the visitors by 18 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here Saturday night.

Set to chase 182, Yuvraj Singh-led Kings XI Punjab could only manage 163 for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Kings XI Punjab opener Shaun Marsh top-scored with 58 runs off 38 balls, while Irfan Pathan played a quick fire 18-ball, 40-run innings down the order.

Super Kings pacer Laxmipathy Balaji (24/5), who made a comeback to the game, registered the first hat-trick of the tournament and was undoubtedly the pick of the hosts' bowlers.
