Port of Spain, Trinidad: Habibul Bashar is well known for his big smile. Today, the Bangladesh skipper wore it even bigger after his team stunned India in the opening match of the World Cup.
Gulf News: Do you consider this victory as your team's biggest win?
Habibul Bashar: To beat India, that too in the World Cup in our very first match, is indeed great.
Do you think India blundered when they let you bowl after winning the toss?
I think it was a good toss to lose. Maybe, if we had won the toss, we would have bowled.
Do you think you are on your way to the second stage as you predicted?
We know that if we have to make it to the second round, we have to win our matches. We have two strong opponents and we are very clear about our objective.
If we are not able to defeat them, we would not qualify. We have beaten India and now we want to win our next two matches too.
What is the secret behind this victory?
We have been playing good cricket for the last one year. There has been a lot of effort and our boys are keen to win matches.

How much did the warm-up matches help in your victory?
The warm-up win over New Zealand gave us the confidence that we can beat strong teams in the World Cup.
We knew that if our bowlers can bowl in the right areas, then we can beat any team. Our pacers and spinner bowled at the right areas and won the match for us.
