Yogi Group and United Bank find opposing bowlers too hot to handle

Abu Dhabi:  Nissan Al Masoud and new entrants Phoenix Medicine joined William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana and New Medical Centre in the last four of the Carpetland Ramadan Cup Twenty20 tournament being played at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.

In Friday's quarter-finals, Al Masoud registered a 14-run win over Yogi Group while Phoenix Medicine beat United Bank Limited by four wickets.

Earlier on Thursday, Abu Dhabi Gymkhana and NMC won their respective matches against Ibsons and Eurocon Alubond respectively.

Al Masoud recovered from 8 for 3 to score 144 for nine thanks mainly to Mohammad Usman's 40 off 46 and Khurram Hameed (33) and Inam Fareed (28).

Yogi were well-placed at 100 for 5, but Mohammad Rafik dismissed Shaiman Butt for 35 and then took three more wickets to stop the visitors in their tracks.

On Friday, UBL never got going against Phoenix. A fighting 37 by Nasir Siddiqui ensured a score of 128, which Phoenix achieved for the loss of six wickets.
