Al Jabeen capture Ten10 cricket title

Al Jabeen Cricket Club beat UAE National Cricket team by 12 runs to lift the first Ten10 cricket tournament at the Zabeel Park grounds.

Dubai: Al Jabeen Cricket Club beat UAE National Cricket team by 12 runs to lift the first Ten10 cricket tournament at the Zabeel Park grounds.

This tournament was held under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council and organised by Jasapara Sports.

Batting first, Al Jabeen posted 139 runs in the allotted 10 over. UAE National chased well but fell short of 12 runs in an exciting final. Yaqoob was named man of the match.

Al Jabeen played three matches continuously to lift the trophy. The rule that no batsman can score more than 40 runs checked their run flow or they could have scored more than 160 runs in 10 overs. Al Jabeen scored 150 runs in the semifinal against KIT Warriors, 137 runs against Inder Transport. Yaqoob scored 44 runs in 10 balls with 4 sixes and 5 fours against UAE National and 41 runs in 9 balls with 6 sixes and one four against KIT Warriors.

UAE National scored 138 runs in semifinal and was nearly chased by Young Challengers. Babar and Azeem knock could lift the game for Young Challengers both had to retired at the crucial time of the match after scoring quick fire 40 runs.
