Abu Bakr leads the way with 75

Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Pakistan School opened their campaign with a resounding win over Our Own English High school in the Lifebuoy Abu Dhabi inter-school under 14 tournament at the ADCC Academy grounds on Tuesday.

Aided by 78 extras and a quick-fire 75 from Abha Abu Bakr, the captain, Pakistan School amassed 275.

Our Own in reply were all out for 65 with five of their batsmen running themselves out to go down by 210 runs in the group B opener. In another match played on Monday, Mohammad Sijah and Mohammad Omar set up an eight-wicket victory for Model School over debutants Emirates Future International

Sijah bowled superbly to return with excellent figures of five for 16 from his five overs and Omar, the captain, stroked 44 not out to steer his side with more than 11 overs to spare in the group B, according to an ADCC press release.

Omar's 35-ball knock contained three hits to the fence and a couple clearing the grounds.

He also shared a 78-run stand for the second-wicket with Anvar Sadath, who chipped in with a useful 22 in 32 balls.

Sijah was well supported by Akash Vipin, who took three wickets for six runs from three overs.

They did the early damage by claiming eight wickets between them as Emirates Future from a sound 43 for one were bowled out for 83.
