DPS Sharjah shock Emirates National School

In the inaugural match of the 9th NIMS Mini inter-school basketball tournament - organised by New Indian Model School (NIMS), Sharjah - Delhi Private School (DPS), Sharjah, registered an upset victory over defending champions Emirates National School, Sharjah.

Sharjah: In the inaugural match of the 9th NIMS Mini interschool basketball tournament - organised by New Indian Model School (NIMS), Sharjah - Delhi Private School (DPS), Sharjah, registered an upset victory over defending champions Emirates National School, Sharjah.

Trailing by three points at the end of the third quarter, DPS went for a scoring spree even as ENS failed to score any basket in the last quarter.

DPS Sharjah won the match 22-16.

In another engagement, Dubai Modern School and Our Own Warqa went on a scoring spree against their opponents, Millennium School and DPS 'B' team, respectively.

For Dubai Modern High, Munif Mohammad (12 points) Athif Ahmad (11) and Karan Mohan (10) excelled. For the Our Own, Warqa, outfit, Amoga (8), Jacob 6 and Sashank (60 emerged the top scorers.

The knockout matches will be held today and tomorrow from 2m to 6 pm.

The finals will be played on Tuesday from 2.30pm onwards.
