Bijobi's effort goes in vain as Hoopers edge out Titan Shipping

Hoopers Dubai edged out Titan Shipping Dubai 84-72 in the Indian Basketball League match at the Al Shaab Sports Club, in Sharjah.

Sharjah: Hoopers Dubai edged out Titan Shipping Dubai 84-72 in the Indian Basketball League match at the Al Shaab Sports Club, in Sharjah.

Titan Shipping, who included Indian Under-23 player Bijobi, saw their side leading in the first quarter by five points, 21:16.

But a strong defence was the key that helped Hoopers surge back into the contest and enjoy the lead at half time, 39-37.

While Titan's Jasim was kept at bay by Hoopers in the second half, the teams scored 20 points each in the third quarter.

Shajahan and Ivan went on a scoring spree as Hoopers built a double digit lead in the last quarter and kept Titan Shipping at bay till the end of the game.
