Dubai: The best Filipino basketball players in Dubai will battle it out at the opening of the FBC-Chikka Grill at Marco Polo Hotel Cup on April 11 at the Al Nasr Gym Dubai.

Celebrity player Atoy Co is coming to the emirate for the opening ceremony of the Marco Polo Hotel-sponsored basketball season.

Ted Magno, Filipino Basketball Centre (FBC) president, said fresh talents will grace the new season.

Magno said games will be held in Sharjah on Fridays and Saturdays, and in Dubai from 8am to 9pm at the Al Nasr Gym stadium.

"The FBC committee is excited to open the season and we are thankful to Chikka Grill and Marco Polo Hotel for supporting this league for the benefit of the Filipino crowd here in the UAE," Magno said.

FBC chairman Ramon Pizarras said the game will commence for 22 consecutive weeks and will end in September.
