Sharjah: Model School, Abu Dhabi, defeated defending champions Emirates National School (ENS), Sharjah, in the quarterfinals of the 9th NIMS Mini Basketball Tournament, organised by New Indian Model School (NIMS), Sharjah.
Both Model School and Emirates National School played well. At the end of the third quarter, Model School were leading 20-19.
Naseem Hussain scored 10 points in the last quarter for Abu Dhabi Model School to steer his team to the semifinals with a convincing margin of 11 points (34-23).
In the other quarterfinal match, Dubai Modern High School, who were trailing by 2 points in the first quarter, went on to win by a margin of 29 points. Munif and Karan were the chief architects of Modern High's victory.
Our Own, Warqa, beat Millennium, Dubai, 25-11, while DPS, Sharjah, beat the ENS 'B' team 25-5 to also reach the semifinals.
