Agreement reached between UAE National Olympic Committee and Procter and Gamble

Dubai: The UAE National Olympic Committee (UAE NOC) yesterday announced a one-year partnership with multi-national giant Procter and Gamble to support its youth development programme.
The agreement was announced by Al Rajwani, Vice President and General Manager for P&G in the Arabian Peninsula and Pakistan, in the presence of Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, Director of Finance, UAE NOC; Ahmad Al Kamali, President, UAE Athletics Association; Saad Al Muhairi, Secretary General, UAE Athletics Association; and Jeff O'Brien, the marketing representative of the UAE NOC, at the launch of their, "Thank You Mom" campaign in the UAE.
"We entered this partnership because our purpose of improving lives is in consonance with the Olympic purpose. We will support the UAE NOC to find UAE athletes from across the country and thus aid in the development of youth sports," Rajwani said.
Under guidance from the UAE NOC, Procter and Gamble will work with the UAE Athletics Association to implement a plan to scout, train and prepare young UAE nationals to become world class athletes in order to compete at future Olympic Games.
The programme hopes to identify and develop a number of young athletes who will gain additional support from a starting base of more than 10,000 schoolchildren.
"For the past 175 years we have been improving everyday lives through our products. We seek out the extraordinary lives. We don't overlook ordinary heroes. We want to celebrate unsung heroes like moms as we are in the business of helping moms," Rajwani said.
