Choose the marathon
As soon as a runner chooses a marathon he/she must plan an 18 to 20-week workout plan. It will be good if he/she runs at least 15 to 25 miles per week for at least a month. The longer you are running, the better you will feel.
Purchase good shoes
Buy a good pair of running shoes. It is important to keep track of how many miles you have run with that shoes and replace when necessary. It is also important to replace them three weeks before the marathon. Do not wear new shoes for the marathon as they can blister your feet.
Clothes and nutrition
Proper running clothes are a must, not only to make you feel comfortable, but also to control sweat. Runners need a high amount of carbohydrates. Consult experts on the right food and for the right time to eat. It is important you replenish calories during long training.
Be positive and enjoy
One of the important advices that marathon trainers give is to stay positive during the run. Do not run for the sake of running. They also stress the importance of having to listen to one's body. It is important you enjoy your run.
