Dubai: Mohammad Al Falasi and Hendrick Saerman came out on top during the fourth round of the DAMC Sprint Challenge at the Dubai Autodrome.

In the cars class, Al Falasi managed to clock in time of 1:13.209 in his Corvette to finish on top in the section.

Coming in second was Raed Hassan, in his Mitsubishi Evo with a time of 1:14.788, while the third place went to Akram Malas with a time of 1:18.089, just 0.151 seconds quicker than Ryan Copeland who was one place behind.

In the bikes section, it was once again the Liberty Kawasaki ZX10 machine ridden by the capable Sauerman that stole the show.

Man to beat

The Kawasaki rider has been the man to beat so far in the 'big bike class' as he once again took the green machine around the circuit to record a best time of 1:12.733.

With Rob Nicholas pushing as hard as possible, he was not too far adrift.

He could be one to watch next time out as he went round in a time of 1:13.066 with another Kawasaki rider, Abdul Aziz Bin Ladin, finishing just behind the front pair with a best lap times of 1:13.928.

Sauerman, from South Africa, said he was a little disappointed with his time as he was looking to record a time that was under one minute and 11 seconds.

Pleased with result

"But I am pleased with the win nevertheless," said.

The surprise of the night came from the performance of Steve Blackney.

He is an accomplished off-road rider having participated all over the world in major off-road events

Now he has turned his hand to all-round biking and made the transition to riding on the track.

A regular at the circuit nowadays, Blackney has beginning to improve his performances.

He competitive lap of 1:15.391 proved enough to take the class win ahead of Mahmoud Tannir, who managed a time of 1:16.961.

Coming in third place was Allen Rowlands in a time of 1:18.333 to finish the podium.

The fifth round of the series will be held on August 22.
