Dubai: The UAE national youth under-19 handball team finished tenth at the Asian Youth Handball Championships held in Jordan.
The UAE team lost their last match to China 33-29 in a play-off to decide ninth and tenth places.
The two teams were leveled at the end of the first session at 15-15.
However the Chinese upped their game in the second half as the UAE struggled to contain them.
The team had been affected by the absence of the talented Bilal Al Mass who didn't take part due to injury.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong defeated India 33-29 to win the 11th place.
