Dubai: The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has launched a breast cancer awareness initiative.
As part of the initiative, the Smart Gates at Dubai International Airport were illuminated in pink colour to mark the Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October.
The gates were illuminated to encourage community members to conduct regular self-examination and give hope to patients and convey the message that the disease can be overcome.
Major-General Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, director-general of the GDRFA Dubai, said, “We are keen to participate in various events and community initiatives, and we have illuminated the smart gates at Dubai International Airport to convey our message of awareness through the most modern transportation hub and world’s busiest airport.”
