Sharjah: The number of criminal cases in Sharjah dropped by 6.9 per cent during the third quarter of this year as compared to 2015 figures.

Colonel Khalifa Kalander, director of the comprehensive police stations at Sharjah Police, attributed the drop to the strict security measures enforced by the police, in addition to awareness drives.

A total of 3,251 criminal reports were filed in police stations this year as against 3,484 in the same period of 2015, a decrease of 233.

He attributed the drop to the keenness of the police leadership to provide the best policing services to community members and to continuously strive to enhance security staff members’ levels of efficiency and performance by providing them with quality training to guarantee proficiency and accuracy in catering to the needs of community members, and ensuring prompt response to security reports.
