Sharjah: The Sharjah Book Authority took part this week at the Kuwait International Book Fair.

A total of 565 publishing houses from 30 countries took part at this year’s edition of the fair, now in its 41st year.

Organisers claim that Sharjah’s participation in the book fair highlights the literary and cultural bonds between the two Gulf states.

At the fair, the Sharjah Book Authority’s pavilion was visited by Shaikh Salman Sabah Salem Al Sabah, the Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs.

The book fair “is the ideal platform to meet an array of publishing houses, cultural experts and other guests from the Gulf region and beyond”, said Shaikh Salman.
