Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will on Monday announce major structural changes in the federal government in preparation for the next phase of development in the UAE.

The changes will be unveiled at 6.30pm during an hour-long live conversation with his 10 million social media followers.

The interaction will be highlight of the three-day World Government Summit beginning today at Madinat Jumeirah.

Shaikh Mohammad will speak via hashtag #World_Government_Summit and will talk about his vision of the new generation of governments, the PMO statement said.

“Through the World Government Summit, the UAE seeks to provide a platform that opens a window to the future and attracts experts, decision makers, entrepreneurs, and innovators to share insights and knowledge about what is good for all of humanity,” Shaikh Mohammed said on the eve of the summit.

More than 3,000 global delegates are expected to attend the summit where the main address will be delivered via closed-circuit television by US President Barack Obama.

“We have directed to transform the summit from an annual event into an international organisation that works throughout the year and focuses on shaping and foreseeing the future in all sectors. It will also focus on producing knowledge for future governments, launching reports and global development indicators, and building partnerships with international organisations,” Shaikh Mohammad added.

Meanwhile, Shaikh Mohammad inaugurated the Museum of the Future at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai. Organised by the Dubai Foundation for the Museum of the Future as part of the summit, the museum focuses on shaping the future of robotics and artificial intelligence and their impact on human life. It also offers a unique interactive experience to visitors by attempting to explore the future of this sector
