Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai visited the 40th Arab Health Exhibition and Congress on its opening day.

He visited stalls of many medical exhibitors and also stopped by a laboratory-equipment workshop. He spent about 15 minutes at the Dubai Health Authority pavilion and spoke to representatives there.

Dr Manal Al Taryam, CEO of Primary Health Care told Gulf News : "At our pavilion Shaikh Mohammad enquired about the medical tourism packages on wellness, Lasik and fertility."

Shaikh Mohammad spent about an hour at the venue. He was flanked by a posse of ministers including Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

With 118 exhibitors showcasing their products, Arab Health is the Arab world’s most comprehensive trade show presenting the latest in medical technology, commodities and consumer goods for hospitals, laboratory equipment, eiagnostics, physiotherapy and orthopedic technology, information and communication technology in healthcare, medical disposables, healthcare building technology and related industries.

Dubai Health Authority is giving top priority to the implementation of smart clinics and smart technology as part of its 2015 health strategiy, in addition to running hospitals and maintaining hospital files better to enhance patient experience.

The 40th edition of Arab Health, being held in Dubai, UAE, runs from January 26-29, 2015 in Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
