Abu Dhabi: A total of 365 counsellors working at public and private schools have received training on how to identity cases of child abuse, the Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) Child Protection Centre announced in a statement sent on November 9.
The training was conducted by the MoI in collaboration with Abu Dhabi’s education sector regulator, the Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec), and its public health-care provider, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha).
In addition, 360 school nurses working under Seha have also been trained on how to identify and report abuse besides extending care to victims.
The MoI also signed a recent agreement with the Adec to enhance cooperation in order to protect schoolchildren from all forms of abuse.
