Abu Dhabi: Sawab Centre, a joint UAE-US initiative to combat Daesh propaganda on social media, has launched an online campaign to shed light on families’ pivotal role in countering the spread of extremism.
The three-day campaign will be launched in Arabic and English on Sawab’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts using the hashtag #Yourfamily_is_yourlife.
The #Yourfamily_is_yourlife campaign will include publishing video clips and graphics that highlight the brutal methods being used by Daesh to disunite families.
The Sawab campaign aims to promote the concept of family cohesion and its central role in thwarting Daesh attempts to deceive people through the internet. It will also put the spotlight on the vital role being played by many international institutions and the international coalition against Daesh to help those affected by conflicts going on in Iraq and Syria.
The campaign is the twelfth in a series of campaigns launched by the centre to reveal Daesh’s brutal treatment of women and children and the importance of diversity as well as the positive impact young people can make in their communities.
Since its establishment in 2015, the centre has spared no efforts to encourage people to be aware of extremism and to act proactively to counter all online terror attempts.
