Abu Dhabi: The voluntary work in service of the UAE is an exemplary token of gratitude to this nation and its leadership for providing a decent living conditions for all, said Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Shaikh Saif was speaking to 120 Emirati and expatriate volunteers of community police, who participated in the organisation of a number of exhibitions, conferences, forums and awareness campaigns, in which the voluntary hours of a policeman exceeded 1,000 hours.

He welcomed the volunteers, expressing his satisfaction about the community elite who join hands to highlight the prestigious image of the UAE.

Shaikh Saif stressed keenness of the government to encourage volunteers to become more active in the service of the nation.

Lieutenant Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Director of the Department of Community Police, said the voluntary work is the best humanitarian work in service of community, adding that the community police were looking forward to adopting institutional societal programmes to ensure a voluntary work culture.
