Abu Dhabi: Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, attended a lecture on the national and reserve service project.

The series of lectures focused on providing information on national and reserve service, relevant federal laws, rules and regulations for applying, conditions for exemption and penalties for avoiding national service.

The sessions also outlined the importance of national service in achieving national political, social, economic and security goals, cohesion and unity among citizens, and bolstering loyalty to the nation.

Shaikh Saif praised the efforts exerted by the project organisers and lecturers. He stressed that the growing numbers of applicants reflects the keenness of Emirati society to heed the call and achieve national benefits.

He pointed out that the goals behind national service are not restricted to economic, political, security or social goals, but also personal gain for an individual by providing them with a self-confidence boost and honing their skills.

Major General Pilot Shaikh Ahmad Bin Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National and Reserve Service Authority, was also present.
