Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a new line for heritage abras at Atlantis The Palm in concurrence with Public Transport Day.

The new blue Abra line was opened in response to public demand.

“The RTA s seeking to offer prominent services by providing marine transit means at tourist and recreational facilities in the emirate, particularly as the Atlantis hotel is characterised by a substantial numbers of visitors spanning community members and tourists,” said Hussain Khansaheb, director of marine transport at the RTA.

He also said that in the first stage, they will install two electricity-powered environment-friendly blue abras, each having the capacity to carry six riders at a fare of Dh65.

The trip, which will take about 20 minutes, will start off at Nasimi Beach at Atlantis and pass through the Atlantis resort, the Palm seaside and the Splash Park.
