Umm Al Quwain: His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, has ordered naming Al Wasl Road after His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
In a statement to Emirates News Agency (WAM), Shaikh Saud said that the decision coincides with the UAE’s 43rd National Day celebrations, and comes in recognition of the role played by Shaikh Mohammad as a successful leader with many contributions under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Shaikh Saud said that Shaikh Mohammad launched many initiatives that contributed to the UAE achieving many advanced positions in various fields.
Shaikh Saud added that Shaikh Mohammad always strives to achieve the top position globally, and that he is appreciated and respected by Emiratis.
As per the order, the road linking Al Ittihad Road with Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road will be named after Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid.
Engineer Ahmad Bin Khalid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Planning and Survey in Umm Al Quwain, said that the department has prepared the new road signs for the street.
