Cairo: An Egyptian military court has once again postponed the trial of 40 Muslim Brotherhood members accused of funding a banned organization.
According to the Brotherhood’s website, the case has been adjourned until April 15. The members have been on trial since April last year.
The defendants include Khairat Al Shater, one the group’s most senior members. Military courts have no right of appeal.
The Brotherhood has accused the Egyptian government of using the trial as a bargaining chip in the run-up to local elections, which will also be held in April.
Thousands of Brotherhood candidates, who run as independents, have been refused applications.
