Rajinikanth, one of South India’s most celebrated actors, will be in Dubai on October 27 at the Burj Park for the audio launch of his sci-fi film, 2.0, along with Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson.

But the launch of the 2010 Enthiran sequel doesn’t end with star-appearances. Oscar winner AR Rahman, who has composed the music for 2.0, will bring in the drum rolls with a 20-minute concert. Actress Jackson is expected to put up a song-dance spectacle.

Director Shankar, who has spearheaded the 2010 sequel, will also be a part of this glitzy entourage.

Touted as India’s most expensive film, with a reported budget of over Rs4.5 billion (Dh254.08 million), 2.0 has been filmed in Hindi and Tamil and is expected to release on January 25 next year.

While Kumar plays a villain in the film, Rajinikanth, who has a legion of devotees who worship him by spraying milk on his posters, will reprise the double role of Chitti and Dr Vaseegara.

Ticket prices, which are expected to go on sale this Sunday, are yet to be revealed.
