In August 2006, Al Nisr Publishing LLC. concluded a contract with Emirates Media Inc. (ADMC) for the management of Radio 1 and Radio 2. With the tagline 'Clear Across the Emirates', Gulf News Broadcasting operates these two English-language radio stations in the UAE.
Both these legendary stations have grown to leading positions and are the only stations in the UAE to broadcast nation-wide, with different frequencies for Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Both stations provide entertainment which melds local relevance with global culture and is the voice of the nation from local citizens to expatriates.
