The approaching Puja weekend will see a clash of two titans at the box office in Kerala. Mammootty’s Thoppil Joppan locks horns with Mohan Lal’s Pulimurugan.
Thoppil Joppan, a Johny Antony film, comes with the tag line ‘50% Love, 50% Alcohol’ and is touted as a comedy. Mammootty plays a Kottayam achayan (a term used to describe elderly men in Syrian Christian homes).
Other cast members include Mamta Mohandas, Andrea Jeremiah and Kaviyoor Ponnamma.
Mammootty’s Thoppil Joppan locks horns with Mohan Lal’s Pulimurugan is a drama set in the forests, with Mohan Lal playing a tribal man in search of an elusive tiger.
Kamalinee Mukherjee is paired opposite him, and the supporting cast includes Lal Sr., Suraj Venjiramoodu, Siddique, Kannada actor Kishore and Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu.
Pulimurugan has been filmed deep in the jungles of Kerala, and the trailers promise rare vistas and breathtaking cinematography.
