Dubai: Dell has updated a bunch of its laptops with Intel’s latest quad-core processors, first with the eighth-generation Kaby Lake chips.

One of the selling points of the 13.3-inch Inspiron 13 7000 series is the thin bezel running along each side of the screen, apart from the two-in-one. It can be tilted up to 180 degrees.

The brushed metal lid and deck gives a premium finish to the mid-priced machine.

Rajat Rallan, senior merchandising manager for Dell Middle East, Turkey and North Africa, said the price difference between the seventh- and eight-generation processors is more than Dh200.

He said the device offers a fingerprint scanner option on top of Windows Hello infrared camera, providing two ways to log into Windows 10 Home without manually entering passwords.

The Intel i5 device, which houses 8GB of RAM and 256GB of solid state drive storage capacity, is priced at Dh3,999 while the Intel i7 device, which houses 8GB of RAM and 256GB of solid state drive storage capacity, is priced at Dh4,599 and the Intel i7 device, which houses 16GB of RAM and 512GB of solid state drive storage capacity, is priced at Dh4,999.

Rallan said that all these machines come with 26 months McAfee anti-virus support. Besides an IPS touch screen, the device has built-in speakers which are tuned with Waves MaxxAudio Pro and Quick Charge technology.
