Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak Bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police honoured Policeman Ahmad Abdullah Al Bloushi

Sharjah: A Sharjah policeman received plaudits for jumping into the sea in his uniform to save a man from drowning recently.

The policeman Ahmad Abdullah Al Bloushi braved the waves to rescue the man who was swimming in inclement weather in the sea off Al Muntazah coast. On Tuesday Al Bloushi was honoured by his deputy commander, Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak Bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police.The ceremony to honour Al Bloushi was attended by Colonel Ahmad Saeed Al Na’our, acting director-general of central operations, and Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Alai Al Naqbi, director of traffic and patrol department.

At the honouring ceremony, it was revealed that while Al Bloushi was on patrol duty, the officer saw a person drowning and rushed to help.

Al Bloushi jumped into the sea in his police uniform and pulled the man out of the strong waves, which had pulled him away deep into the sea. He brought him safely to the shore.

The man was given first aid on the site and later taken to the hospital for medical check-up.

Brigadier Bin Amer praised the work of Al Bloushi for carrying out his duty diligently as a security man without caring for his life. Brigadier Bin Amer lauded him for his courage and alacrity in saving the drowning man.

Brigadier Bin Amer said that self-sacrifice is a key characteristic of a police officer and a consistent approach in preparing the state’s officers to carry out their duties.
