Fujairah: Fujairah Police have arrested one of their officers after he posted a video on social media that went viral.

The video clip circulated on social media on Saturday showed the officer in official uniform and flaunting currency notes while driving.

The clip also showed a huge pile of money in the car. The clip showed the officer waving a fan made of 100- and 1,000-dirham notes. “It’s too hot,” he is heard saying while waving the ‘fan’.

The Fujairah Police denounced the officer’s behaviour and said it does not reflect the values of the police force.

Brigadier Mohammad Ganem Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, told Gulf News that police identified the officer and arrested him.

An investigation has been launched against the officer.

Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry said full force of the law will be applied against anyone who attempts to discredit the reputation of the UAE police forces.
